First-Generation Student

Welcome to the first-generation college student support site for the office of New Student & Family Programs! We define “first-generation” as a student whose parent/guardian/support system did not graduate from a four-year institution.

Our goal is to support you and your transition to the UofA. Many other students have had the first-hand knowledge of their family members to help guide them, and we want to be that person for you!
