I am working on my Pre nursing major in the college of health and education professions.
What does it mean to you to be a first-generation student/graduate?
Being a first-generation student means a lot to me. My family has sacrificed so much in order to see me succeed in my academics and have a professional career someday. It is a great honor to be able to be the first in my family to make it to college.
Why is being a first-generation student/graduate important to you?
Being a first-generation student is important to me because me being able to go to college sets a good example for my siblings and cousins, and I want them to believe they can also make it to college.
What piece of advice would you give to first-generation students?
Work hard and believe in yourself.
